Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking an Resource MRI Technologist to operate MRI equipment, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high imaging standards. Qualifications include ARRT radiography and MRI registrations with CPR. Preferred MRI experience and dedication to patient safety are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT) upon hire.
• Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days; MRI Magnet safety and QA.
• Experience with MRI preferred.
• Commitment to patient safety and diagnostic accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain diagnostic images.
• Obtain patient history and screening forms, explain procedures clearly and address concerns.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Perform quality assurance checks on MRI scanner to ensure image quality.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Resource MRI Technologist, you will operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images crucial for physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.

Every day, you will obtain detailed patient history and screening forms, explaining routine procedures clearly and empathetically addressing patient concerns to ensure their comfort and understanding. You will be responsible for maintaining meticulous patient records and files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. A critical part of your role involves performing quality assurance checks on the magnetic resonance scanner, guaranteeing optimal functionality and image integrity.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a current MRI Technologist certification/license and clinical experience in operating MRI scanners. You will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail in patient screening and data recording, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. A commitment to patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and maintaining high equipment standards will be essential in providing vital imaging support to our medical team.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols.
• Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
• Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
• Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Maintains professional development and education for technical competency.
