USDA-FSIS is seeking incumbents for positions in the Office of Field Operations, Regulatory Operations, District Offices, to manage staffing and related functions ensuring proper coverage of meat, poultry, and egg product inspection assignments across multiple states.
Responsibilities include coordinating staffing reports, training calendars, and responding to inquiries from the field and customers, with emphasis on effective communication and organizational planning.
These positions are located in the Office of Field Operations, Regulatory Operations, District Offices. The district office is responsible for the overall management of an inspection and enforcement program involving meat, poultry, and egg products in several states. The incumbents of this position have responsibility for coordinating a variety of staffing and related functions to ensure proper and adequate coverage of inspection assignments.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. For the GS-5 level: Applicants must have one year of General Experience: 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. For the GS-7 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level) that demonstrates: Assisting in researching and interpreting basic regulations and guides. Assisting in development of staffing reports. Answering routine inquiries from the field and customers on personnel, and management issues. Personnel management and files / records management experience. Maintaining, coordinating calendars and events. Compiling and assembling data, creating, and maintaining spreadsheets, personnel, training, leave, staffing or other administrative requirements. For the GS-09 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level) that demonstrates:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
