Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Resource Coordinator for Diagnostic Imaging to support staffing, training, and patient flow across CT, MRI and X-ray services. You will ensure proper coverage, uphold quality standards, and maintain QC records while coordinating equipment and supply usage.

The role requires ARRT/IEMA/BLS certifications with 3–5 years of related work experience and 2–3 years of undergrad education or equivalent. Shift is weekdays, days, full-time.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• IEMA certification required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the selection of new team members.
• Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
• Monitors the orientation of staff and identifies further instructional needs.
• Assist with scheduling staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records.
• Prioritizes, assigns and reviews work; provides feedback to the manager regarding staff performance.
• Assists the manager in establishing and evaluating performance expectations for staff.
• Serves as a resource to staff as it relates to patient evaluation and quality of service performed in the Imaging modalities.
• Ensures staffing levels which meet department guidelines; ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime.
• Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment; orders and maintains supplies used in the department.
• Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs; assists with recommendations regarding the acquisition of new equipment.
• Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
• Enforces policies and procedures; assists in updating and developing procedure manuals and protocols for CT, MRI and X-ray.
• Coordinates patient flow through department; resolves scheduling issues.
• Monitors and maintains the quality of films and services produced in CT, MRI and X-ray modalities.
• Monitors charges and tracks financial performance in CT, MRI, and X-Ray modalities.
• Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
• Administers contrast media orally or intravenously; gathers pertinent information from patient, patient\'s chart and radiology folder to determine risk factors for IV contrast.
• Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
• Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort and level of sedation.
• Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
• Evaluates radiographs, video tape and computer generated information for technical quality.
• Calibrates the CT and laser.
• Serves as a lead person for ACR Accreditation in CT and MRI.
• Maintains CT and MRI QC records.
