Job summary

Trailborn Surf & Sound in North Carolina is seeking a Resort Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling systems. You will work with minimal supervision and contribute to a collaborative team.

The role requires at least 1 year of maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read and write English.

• Intermediate understanding of electrical, carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of job sites and work areas.
• Inspect buildings and rooms daily.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling systems as directed.
• Repair door locks to maintain building/room security per risk standards.
• Inspect room A/C filters and determine cleaning or replacement needs.
• Verify accuracy of inspection and preventive maintenance records.
• Support keeping equipment in good working order.
• All other duties as assigned.

ABOUT OUR ROLE

The Resort Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. The Resort Maintenance Technician must work efficiently with minimal supervision and have a willingness to work as a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain security and safety of all job sites and work areas for self, fellow workers, staff, guests, and any other person(s)possibly affectedduring performance of assignments.
• Complete daily inspections and maintenance on assigned buildings and rooms.
• Repairs plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems as directed.
• Repair door locks tomaintainbuilding and/or room security per risk management standards.
• Inspects room A/C filters on a regular schedule anddeterminesif cleaning or replacement iswarranted.
• Verifies accuracy of records for inspections and preventative maintenance work executed.
• Support keeping equipment in good working order.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• A valid driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of experience in general maintenance.
• Intermediate understanding of electrical, carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
• Experience in any other trades such as vehicle maintenance, welding, machine operation, etc. a plus.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Basic Competencies:

• High levelof professionalism, able to follow instructions with follow-up, respect, and integrity.
• Understand oral and written communications, follow detailed directions, and provide clear instructions/directions.
• Basic skillssuch asattention to detail skills, reasoning skills,and multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb and work from a ladder up to 40 feet from ground level.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl through; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SCHEDULE

Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality– on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PAY RATE

$18.00-$22.00/Hour
