Overview
Resort Maintenance Technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Suns resorts. They conduct building maintenance repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property grounds, facilities, streets, equipment & various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians provide excellent customer service to prospective & current guests and residents at all times, and may assist with site setups to ensure timely arrivals and departures of resort guests and residents.
Job Duties
- Empty trash, shovel, perform maintenance or repair duties, use power equipment, drills or other hand tools
- Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repair
- Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, and repair as necessary
- Inspect playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as needed
- Ensure the resort is presentable and inviting at all times, adhering to Sun's curb appeal standards
- Perform lawn care services such as weed control, planting, mulching, trimming, and removal of damaged tree limbs
- Ensure trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets; empty trash containers as needed
- Clean resort amenities including clubhouses, courts, offices, restrooms, laundry areas, bath houses, and maintenance garage
- Maintain vacant sites, including trash removal and site upkeep
- Remove snow from community streets, parking lots, and building entrances, using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Inspect tied down RVs, park models, and mobile homes for damages and cleanliness prior to sale
- Complete checklists of resort site conditions before and after guest occupancy
- Assist Resort Manager with supervision of service contractors
- Report maintenance issues promptly to the manager
- Ensure all streets and access routes are hazard-free
- Maintain resort pools, test and adjust chemical levels as needed
- Maintain resort vehicles and equipment
- Follow safety procedures, operate vehicles safely, and respond to resort needs during non-business hours
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort
- Knowledge of general maintenance and repair techniques
- Ability to work outdoors in seasonal temperatures
- Basic knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
- Proficiency with hand tools, power equipment, and machinery
- Ability to write legible reports
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills including email and internet use
- Availability for on-call work outside of regular hours
- Valid driver’s license
