Job summary

Semiahmoo Resort is hiring a Resort Landscaper to maintain lawn care, garden beds, and shoreline landscapes on the Semiahmoo Bay site. You will plant, prune, irrigate, and operate commercial equipment while coordinating with facilities and hospitality teams.

We value hands-on experience, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. Training is available for the right candidate, with a supportive, inclusive team culture and opportunities to grow within Columbia

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–2 years in landscaping, lawn care or resort groundskeeping preferred (training available).
• Driver's license with clean driving record required to operate resort vehicles.
• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all weather.
• A strong eye for clean lines, visual symmetry and plant health care.
• Ability to interact with guests and work well with hospitality teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lawn mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing and blowing of resort lawns.
• Maintain garden beds with weeding, mulching, soil conditioning and seasonal cleanups.
• Plant and prune trees, shrubs and flowers per ecological guidelines.
• Maintain shoreline landscape zones and protect natural coastal processes.
• Set up and troubleshoot irrigation for gardens, lawns and pots.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and perform basic tool maintenance.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What Success Looks Like

Your Impact

• Lawn & Turf Care: Perform routine mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, and blowing of the resort's beach lawns, sports areas, and common lawns.
• Landscape Bed Maintenance: Manage comprehensive garden bed care, including precise weeding, heavy mulching, soil conditioning, and seasonal clean-ups.
• Flora & Tree Care: Plant new flowers, shrubs, native hedges, and trees. Prune, trim, and monitor the health of existing trees and ornamental plants to meet the resort village's ecological guidelines.
• Shoreline & Buffer Upkeep: Maintain the delicate marine-shoreline landscape zones. Ensure proper protection of natural coastal processes while clearing debris and keeping pathways pristine.
• Irrigation & Water Management: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot watering schedules for gardens, lawns, and potted installations.
• Equipment Operation: Safely utilize commercial landscaping equipment, including zero-turn mowers, line trimmers, hedge clippers, chainsaws, and blowers. Perform basic preventative maintenance on tools.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of professional landscaping, lawn care, or resort groundskeeping experience is preferred (though training is available for the right candidate).
• Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required to operate resort vehicles and equipment.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all Pacific Northwest weather conditions (rain, wind, heat). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, bend, kneel, and stand for extended shifts.
• Attention to Detail: A strong eye for clean lines, visual symmetry, and proper plant health care.
• Teamwork & Hospitality: Ability to interact politely and professionally with resort guests and work effectively alongside our facilities and hospitality teams.
