Job summary

Highgate Hotels’ TradeWinds Resort in St. Pete Beach is seeking a Guest Room Engineer to perform day-to-day maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, meetings rooms, restaurants and lounges.

You will respond to work orders and help maintain resort property, equipment, and safety. The role requires 2–3 years related experience, hands-on skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting, plus strong guest and team communication.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years related experience.
• Diverse skill set including carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting.
• Proven track record of "Do it right the first time" work ethic.
• Strong communication with guests and employees.
• Working knowledge of resort operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms, restaurants and other areas of the resort.
• Complete tasks submitted by work orders under supervision.
• Follow all procedures and policies as per Employee Handbook.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.
• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and resort property.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Report major repairs to Chief Engineer and/or Engineering Manager.
• Determine exact cause and location of fire alarms and communicate findings to management.
• Demonstrate cooperation and helpfulness at all times.
