Job summary

Shea Properties' Encanterra Country Club in Queen Creek, AZ is seeking a Bartender to prepare and serve beverages and food to guests at the bar, restaurant, and patio, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager.

You will greet guests, take orders, balance the cash register, check IDs, and assist in all Food & Beverage functions including weddings and banquets. A flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• One year experience bartending, in a resort facility preferred.
• Must meet the state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol.
• Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to calculate discounts, and percentages
• Ability to speak effectively and present information to another person and in small group situations with guests and team members.
• Ability to provide direction to coworkers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memorandums.
• Must be able to pay attention to details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent hospitality by knowing the resort facility and dining area.
• Take a proactive approach to ensure high standards of food service and quality.
• Greet and serve guests, take orders, and suggest drinks.
• Check IDs to assure customers are of legal drinking age.
• Balance cash register and handle cash/card transactions.
• Attend and assist in all Food & Beverage functions (e.g. weddings).
• Prepare beverages and bar setups for banquets and other functions.
• Respond to incoming F&B phone calls.
