Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior resiliency expert to lead disruption recovery efforts for business processes and critical technology assets in AWS environments. You will partner with engineering and architecture teams to implement recovery strategies, testing plans, and operational readiness across the technology lifecycle.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in risk and resiliency, AWS and backup technologies expertise, and a Bachelor’s or higher degree.

Responsibilities

Lead efforts to implement processes and standards for disruption recovery of business processes and critical tech assets.
Integrate risk management disciplines including recovery-plan documentation and testing.
Serve as resiliency subject matter expert across the technology lifecycle.
Translate recovery objectives into implementation plans, testing strategies, and readiness activities.
Collaborate with technology teams to ensure services are recoverable and meet objectives during failures or cyber events.
Oversee resiliency integration in the lifecycle, including AWS-hosted services and supporting platforms.
Oversee risk identification and mitigation, and drive contingency plans for emergencies.
Anticipate changes to help the organization survive, thrive, and evolve.

Job description

Lead efforts to implement processes, procedures, and standards for anticipating, identifying, responding to, and recovering from disruptions to business processes and critical technology assets
Ensure understanding of existing and future business and technology risks and develop mitigation strategies
Integrate risk management disciplines, including risk identification, recovery-plan documentation, and testing of recovery and mitigation strategies
Serve as technical resiliency subject matter expert throughout the technology lifecycle
Translate recovery objectives and resiliency requirements into implementation plans, recovery capabilities, testing strategies, and operational readiness activities
Collaborate with technology teams to ensure critical services are recoverable, measurable, testable, and capable of meeting recovery objectives during technology failures, cyber events, and regional disruptions
Focus on resiliency integration in the technology lifecycle, implementation readiness, testing, and validation across AWS-hosted services and supporting technology platforms
Oversee the team and identification of risks to business operations and work with leadership to develop solutions
Drive implementation of contingency plans for unexpected emergencies and assist with plan development
Anticipate and react to change to help the organization survive, thrive, and evolve
Oversee team efforts to identify indicators showing management current resilience levels
Address situations requiring attention or resolution outside standard working hours

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience
Curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence
Experience supporting AWS-hosted production environments
Experience working closely with engineering and architecture organizations
Knowledge of cloud recovery capabilities, backup technologies, automation, and operational recovery processes
Experience leading complex projects involving cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
AWS certification
