Job summary

Affirm, Inc. seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Resilience Engineering team, focusing on proactive validation, production load testing, and chaos engineering to safeguard live systems.

You will shape platforms and tooling for safe production experimentation, collaborating with infrastructure, product, and security leadership to embed resilience in the software lifecycle and drive reliable, auditable practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Seasoned engineering manager with proven leadership in reliability, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with production load testing, chaos engineering, or large-scale system validation.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes) and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the resilience engineering vision, focusing on production load testing and chaos engineering as core practices.
• Lead and mentor engineers building platforms and tooling for safe production experimentation.
• Partner with infrastructure, product, and security leadership to embed resilience validation in the SDLC.
• Establish safeguards, isolation boundaries, and automated rollback for production tests.
