Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies is seeking a Resilience Intern to support the company’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program in Omaha, NE. You will work with stakeholders to update plans, participate in drills, and assist in crisis management activities while gaining valuable exposure to risk management practices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students pursuing risk management, emergency management, or resilience.
• Understanding of operational resilience principles and emergency standards.
• Proficiency with basic PC software and ability to learn new tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication across org levels.
• Commitment to high-quality customer service and collaboration.
• Ability to manage time, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Meet with process owners to collect continuity information across locations.
• Support leadership training on process updates.
• Act as scribe during live exercises and drills with teams.
• Help develop exercises to test continuity strategies.
• Monitor threats and inform resilience leadership of issues.
• Identify risks and assist in mitigation with leadership.
