Job summary

Boys Town in Omaha, NE is seeking a Residential Youth Specialist to provide direct care to at‑risk youth in a family‑style home. You will teach life skills, model positive behavior, and support each child’s academic, spiritual, and emotional development in a safe, structured environment.

You will engage in activities with youth, uphold Boys Town values, and participate in pre‑service training including CPR and personal restraint education.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Passion for working with youth; flexible and team-oriented.
  • Physical ability to actively engage with children in a dynamic environment.
  • CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained during pre-service training.

  • Providing care, guidance, and behavioral support to youth.
  • Teaching life and social skills using the Boys Town model.
  • Supporting academic and spiritual development.
  • Ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment.
  • Participating in fun and educational activities with youth.

Make a Difference in a Child’s Life – Become a Residential Youth Specialist in Omaha,NE!

Starting Pay: $20.00/hour

Hiring Bonus: $1,500 (Subject to change at anytime)

Full-Time Shift: Typical hours 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, including two weekends and two overnight stays per month.

As a Residential Youth Specialist or it is technically an Assistant Family Teacher, you’ll provide direct care to at-risk children in a supportive, family-style home. You’ll teach life skills, model positive behavior, and support each child’s moral, educational, and emotional development.   • Demonstrate to criteria while maintaining current in CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained during pre-service training required.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs and safely transport youth
  • Able to perform household tasks and respond to physical/emotional needs
  • Comfortable handling behavioral challenges and safety protocols
