Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Residential Helper to support drivers in servicing customers and hauling waste to disposal sites. You will routinely enter/exit the truck, replace receptacles, and help maintain clean trucks while delivering friendly, safe service to neighborhoods.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly, work in outdoor conditions, and follow safety instructions. Weekend hours and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, and safety training
• Waste industry experience preferred
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 75 lbs frequently; occasional up to 100 lbs

Responsibilities

• Provide trash or recycling removal services to customers, in a safe and compliant way, by emptying trash/recycling containers into truck and hauling to disposal site
• Routinely enter/exit the truck approximately 300-600 times per day, depending on the assigned route
• Replace trash/recycling receptacles neatly at the curb or designated area
• Clean up waste spills and overflows
• Work with multiple drivers depending on workloads
• Operate packing mechanism and various lever/handles on truck to activate lifting/loading mechanism
• Assist Driver in safely backing up the truck by directing the Driver from outside the truck
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness of truck as needed
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service
• Manually load bulk items as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
