Job summary

Pathway Family Services seeks a Residential Unit Leader to oversee daily activities in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program in Topeka, KS. The role emphasizes coordinating groups, ensuring treatment schedules, and promoting safety and therapeutic care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (associates preferred), 2+ years in residential settings, and a valid driver’s license, with Safe Crisis Management training or willingness to obtain it. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in human services preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential program; medical care center experience a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards.
  • Completion of Safe Crisis Management training (or willingness to complete upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct group activities to ensure compliance with treatment schedules
  • Monitor and report supply and curriculum needs for psychosocial programming
  • Ensure staff are equipped with materials for therapeutic groups and activities
  • Collaborate with medical, therapeutic, and educational departments for holistic care
  • Document staff interactions, incidents, and resident progress
  • Support direct care staff during emergencies or crises
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and coaching
  • Transport residents or conduct agency business using personal or agency vehicles
  • Promote cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and adherence to accreditation standards
