Job summary

InterCommunity, Inc. is hiring a Residential Technician (Rt) to provide direct patient support in our CT facilities.

Under nursing supervision, you will perform vital signs, assist with admissions and discharges, support daily living activities, and maintain documentation within Withdrawal Management and Intensive units. The role requires an active CNA/MA/PCA certification or equivalent experience, CPR/First Aid, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

• Active CNA/MA/PCA certification preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong communication and observation skills required.
• Computer literacy and accurate typing skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents vital signs accurately and promptly.
• Performs hourly observations and fall risk observations as assigned.
• Manages admission and discharge processes for Withdrawal Management and Intensive units.
• Assists with daily living activities and maintains unit cleanliness.
• Updates documentation and maintains a therapeutic, safe environment.
• Prepares patients for doctor visits and maintains accurate logs.

Summary:

The Residential Technician (RT) provides direct patient support under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring safety and maintaining a therapeutic environment. This role includes performing vital signs and observations, assisting with admissions and discharges, supporting daily living activities, maintaining unit cleanliness, and updating documentation within the Withdrawal Management and Intensive departments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs and documents all vital signs accurately and promptly.
• Performs and documents hourly observations promptly.
• Performs and documents fall risk observations promptly.
• Responsible for the admission process for both the Withdrawal Management and Intensive units, including the search, storage and documentation process.
• Responsible for the discharge process for both the Withdrawal Management and Intensive units, including proper handling of patient belongings and documentation process.
• Ensures patients receive all possessions and medications upon discharge.
• Responsible for updating the communication log, census, and other misc. shared documents
• Assists patients with ADLs as needed.
• Responsible for registration of new patients to both programs
• Responsible for the nightly process in Epic, if applicable
• Responsible for managing the doctor’s list of physicals and preparing the patients to see the doctor
• Maintains cleanliness of the unit, kitchenette, patients rooms, and triage.
• Responsible for maintaining a therapeutic, peaceful, clinical treatment environment
• Thorough shift-to-shift report received and given before and after each shift.
• All other duties as assigned.

*All agency staff must be awake during all scheduled hours*

*All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings*

Schedule:

Part-time 16 hours per week - 3:00 PM -11:30 PM

Week 1: Sunday/Friday

Week 2: Thursday/Sunday

Requirements

• An active CNA/MA/PCA Certification from the State of Connecticut (preferred), or equivalent experience.
• CPR/First Aid.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Compassion, patience and a dedication to patient care.
• Computer literacy and typing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a team.
