Description

GeneralPosition Description:

Undergeneralsupervision , provides crisissupportservicestoconsumersreceiving24/7/365crisisservices.Thismayinclude the following levels of care/services; Gaylain’s House of Hope (for female staff as applicable) and/or any other service assignedbysupervisor.Primarydutiesincludesupportingthemedicalandclinical servicesbeingprovidedtoconsumers,to include; maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, assisting consumers with basic needs, e.g., providing bedding/towels, assisting with meal preparation, washing clothing, motivational counseling to enhance service delivery, transportation, and other duties assigned by supervisor.This position will also be responsible for transportation of consumers on a daily basis for outpatient groups at Lincoln Outpatient.

  • Shall demonstratetheuseofknowledge/skill/judgmentandprovide24/7/365crisismanagementservicesthat evidence ethical performance and meet the needs of persons served and other stakeholders.
  • Performance tasks shall included, but not be limited to:

Underthedirectsupervision ofasupervisororTeamLeadRN,shallutilizeknowledge/skilltomaintaina safe and therapeutic environment and support professional services that are provided within 24/7/365 services.

Useofleastrestrictiveinterventionstopromoteconsumerautonomyandassuresafetyforemployees and other consumers on the unit.

Effectivecommunicationwithconsumerstoenhancemotivationandcommitmenttorecovery process.

Takingaccuratevitalsignsthatincludeblood pressure,pulse,respirationsandmonitoringgeneralhealth status and safety and observing self-administration or medication administration as applicable.

MonitorandreporttosupervisoranyissuesthatbecomeapparentwithaCTI consumer

Useofacommunity -based teamapproachthatutilizestheresourcesofthecommunity,consumer,and treatment team, to achieve positiveconsumer outcome, stabilizethecrisisand appropriatetransitions the consumer to needed services and supports.

Shall demonstrate the ability to work/be a part of24/7/365 organizational and therapeutic teams, and maintainpositiveworkingrelationshipswith consumers,communitystakeholders,referralorganizations, and other employees/ departments of PCC.

Shalldevelopaworkingknowledgeofapplicableorganizationalpolicyandprocedureand demonstrate compliance. This shall include, but not be limited to:

GeneralKnowledgeandSkillsRequiredfor Position:

GeneralKnowledge of thedynamicsof MH/DD/SAbehavioralhealth disorders(BHD)and theirimpact upon persons served and their families; the bio/psycho/social factors involved in (BHD);up-to-date principles/techniques (evidence based/best practices) ofcrisis response, prevention, and intervention application to individuals possessing (BHD); the community resources available to persons with (BHD), to includebehavioralhealth,socialservice,communityservices,andself-helpgroups;knowledgeofbillingand service record documentation requirements, NC Division of MH/DD/SA, ASAM/MCO, CARF and PCC policy/procedure.

GeneralSkillin theapplicationofcrisisassessment/prevention/interventiontechniquesthatareconsideredas ethical evidence based/best practices as defined by the NC Division of MH/DD/SA, and/or literature/research, and organizational policy/procedure;skillin thedelivery ofservicesusingaccepted crisistreatment modalities, to include, individual, family, marital, and in-community; skill in establishing/maintaining effective therapeutic and professional relationships with persons served and/or their family members; behavioral health providers; and, skill in accurately documenting services provided and billed.

PreferredandMinimumPosition Qualifications:

Ataminimum,theindividualmustmeettheNCDivisionofMH/DD/SArequirementsfor Paraprofessional.

Atleastone(1)yearexperienceindeliveringclinical crisisservices.Creditmaybegivenforpreviouscrisisexperiencein other job positions, practicums, and internships as this experience relates to the provision of crisis services.

Preferencemaybegivenforindividualsthatare aCertified PeerSupport Specialist(orpursuingcertification) orAlcohol and Drug Counselor.

AdditionalJobRequirements(Licenses,Certifications,PersonalVehicle, etc.):

Validdriver’slicense(maybewaivedbysupervisorifindividualisacertifiedpeersupportspecialistor CSAC)

24/7/365shiftworkisrequiredforthispositionthatmayincludeavailabilitybyphonetoworkshiftsand cover increased acuity on unit or as requested by supervisor.

Musthavetheabilitytolift up to20 pounds.

Musthavetheabilitytomovefreelyandbemobileforaminimumof6-8hoursduringwork shift.

Travelisrequiredaspartofthispositionandmayusecompanysuppliedvehicleand/oruseofpersonalvehicle with mileage reimbursement as defined in PCC policy/procedure.

Musthavetheabilitytooperatetelephone,faxmachine,andcomputer hardware/software.

Musthavetheabilitytowriteinamannerthatis legible/readable/understandable.

Willingnesstoworkinahighstress/riskenvironmentthatisdrivenbyteam performance
