Job summary

A non-profit organization in Honolulu is seeking a Residential Support Staff member to supervise activities and ensure client safety while providing support in a residential treatment setting for women and children. Responsibilities
  • Supervise all milieu activities and uphold client safety and treatment guidelines, including healthy room checks, monitor phone calls and visitations, contraband searches for incoming items, nighttime room and chore checks.
  • Work with the counseling team to ensure consistency in interventions with clients.
  • Model, coach and encourage assertive, respectful communication, conflict resolution, positive parenting interactions and de‑escalation techniques.
  • Monitor self‑administered medications and complete medication administration documentation.
  • Conduct drug screenings as scheduled.
  • Provide transportation for residents as assigned.
  • Ensure that all client and program related documents are properly and securely filed before your shift ends.
  • Attend staff meetings and agency trainings, including medication administration training.
  • Complete assigned documentation duties such as shift logs and log client service hours.
  • Participate in shift change conferences and timely communication with supervisor for any changes in protocols or attendance.
  • For night shifts: accurate and consistent data collection of client contact hours, program charts, and binders that requires rotation, archiving, replacing or shredding, printing client certificates and chart reviews.
  • Use tele‑communication platforms (Zoom, hotspots, iPad, Microsoft Teams).
  • Maintain accurate inventory of household equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
  • Maintain work area and staff restroom in a neat, orderly, and sanitary manner.
  • Follow agency procedures for emergency response codes, including running monthly fire drills and documentation.
