Job summary

Sweetser in Belfast, ME is seeking dedicated direct care staff for the Adult PNMI program. The hourly rate starts at $19 with a $2.50 night differential and a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time hires.

Responsibilities include supporting residents’ goals, promoting independent living, and ensuring safety and health. A valid Maine driver’s license is required, with MHRT‑I certification eligible within the first year.

Qualifications

• One year of direct care and/or crisis intervention experience.
• Lived experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse is encouraged.
• High School diploma or GED required; MHRT‑I certification or eligibility within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive emotional support and supervision to residents.
• Assist residents to reach goals and improve independent living skills.
• Encourage residents to maintain health through hygiene, diet, exercise, rest, and coping strategies.
• Facilitate medications administration and required documentation.
• Work as part of a team to deliver quality services.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive emotional support and supervision to residents.
• Assist individuals to reach their goals and improve skills for independent living.
• Encourage and support the resident’s efforts to maintain their health status through hygiene, diet, exercise, rest and utilization of coping strategies.
• Encourage and support resident’s efforts to increase opportunities for social contact, vocational development, skill development for independent living, psychosocial rehabilitation and access to community resources.
• Facilitate administration of medications and complete required documentation.
• Work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Assure quality in work performed to facilitate the delivery of quality services.
• Understand and follow all Sweetser health and safety policies.
• Be committed to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Position Requirements

• Valid state driver’s license.
• Persons with lived experience in the Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse system are encouraged to apply.
• One year of experience providing direct care and/or crisis intervention to adults in a related field.
