Job summary

Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) is seeking a dedicated Residential Support staff member to assist adults with intensive mental health needs in a licensed care home. You will help with daily living activities, meals, medications, and community integration, while working with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals.

The role offers training, mentorship, and a supportive environment in which to build skills, with shifts that may include evenings or overnights.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Experience with psychiatric populations desirable.
  • Ability to complete treatment notes in English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct residential support to adults in a licensed care home.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including meals and medication routines.
  • Accompany residents to medical, psychiatric, and community appointments.
  • Monitor and document resident progress and concerns per care plans.
  • Maintain a safe, structured residential environment following regulations.

As part of our Residential Support team, you play a vital role in helping individuals achieve greater independence, stability, and confidence in their daily lives. In a small, licensed residential care home, your work directly supports residents in a structured, 24/7 environment with nursing oversight.Through hands-on guidance with daily living skills, meal planning, vocational activities, medication routines, and treatment and recovery planning, you help residents build the skills they need to succeed beyond the residential setting. Whether you’re launching your career in human services or growing your experience, you’ll receive training, mentorship, and support while making a lasting, positive impact every single day.Summary of DutiesProvide direct residential support to adults with intensive mental health needs in a licensed care homeAssist residents with activities of daily living, including meal planning, meal preparation, medication routines, and community integrationSupport residents in achieving vocational, educational, and personal recovery goals through skill-building, encouragement, and positive role modelingAccompany residents to medical, psychiatric, and community appointments as neededMonitor, document, and communicate resident progress, behavioral changes, and concerns in accordance with care plans and agency requirementsMaintain a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment while following regulatory standards and house guidelinesCollaborate with nursing staff, clinicians, and other team members to ensure coordinated, person-centered carCompensation and BenefitsWCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and a generous retirement contribution match.
