Job description

As a Solar Designer, you will collaborate with our Solar Guides, Home Evaluators, Technical Evaluators, and Project Managers throughout the entire Solar Holler process to ensure a quality solar installation and satisfied customers. Your responsibilities include 3D modeling and sunlight simulations, utility bill analyses, structured proposals, and project plan sets. Each Designer manages their assigned deals and is expected to go above and beyond from lead acquisition to project completion.

Job Functions

  1. Complete 3D modeling and sunlight simulations using our solar software to evaluate site suitability for solar installations. Document your assessments to support the sales team in clear, accurate customer communication.
  2. Analyze clients’ utility bill history to assess their energy needs and current utility expenses.
  3. Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand each client’s project goals and design an appropriate solar system.
  4. Develop comprehensive solar proposals, including system pricing.
  5. Manage your assigned projects throughout the sales process, making timely adjustments based on client feedback.
  6. Coordinate with our Operations team to prepare detailed plan sets for installation teams.
  7. Serve as a vital link between the Operations and Sales teams, gaining proficiency in various solar products to accurately represent their performance to clients.
  8. Adapt to changes in financing options, equipment, and processes to improve efficiency and offer affordable solar solutions, especially for our Appalachian community.
  9. Communicate regularly and actively participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues, despite working remotely.
