Role Description

The Residential Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX. This position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing residential electrical issues, including service panels, wiring, outlets, lighting, and other household electrical systems. Day-to-day tasks include performing inspections, troubleshooting complex electrical problems, completing code-compliant installations and upgrades, and documenting work performed. The technician will interact directly with homeowners, explain findings and options, provide expert recommendations, and ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The role also involves responding to emergency service calls, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and representing 5G Electric LLC’s values of honesty, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong residential electrical service skills, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation of panels, circuits, outlets, and lighting.
• Knowledge of NEC electrical code, local regulations, and best practices for electrical safety in residential environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and work orders, and to use standard electrical testing tools and equipment.
• Effective communication skills for explaining technical issues to customers, providing clear options, and delivering excellent customer service.
• Proven reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality workmanship on every project.
• Experience working independently in the field, managing time, and prioritizing multiple service calls.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for traveling to customer sites in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
• State-required electrician license or residential wireman/journeyman credentials; master-level experience is a plus.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in varied indoor and outdoor conditions.
