Big Birge Plumbing in Elkhorn, NE is seeking a motivated Residential Service Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in homes and commercial buildings. You will read blueprints, weld or solder pipes, cut and bend pipes, and install fixtures with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a plumber or completion of an apprenticeship.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
• Weld and solder pipes and fittings together using various techniques.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles using pipe threading and bending tools.
• Install and repair fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, water heaters, and dishwashers.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks using air pressure gauges and water pressure gauges.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure plumbing systems are integrated into the building structure.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as clearing clogged drains and replacing worn-out parts.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and resolving plumbing issues in a timely manner.

• Proven experience as a plumber or completion of an apprenticeship program
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools commonly used in plumbing work
• Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and other team members
