The Residential Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential plumbing systems and fixtures. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a customer-focused approach. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of residential service plumbing experience and is committed to delivering quality workmanship while maintaining a professional image in customers' homes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to scheduled residential service calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, water heaters, water lines, drain lines, and related plumbing components.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on residential plumbing systems.
- Communicate repair recommendations and available solutions clearly with homeowners.
- Prepare accurate service reports, invoices, and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with local plumbing codes and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service vehicle.
- Work collaboratively with dispatchers, office staff, and management to ensure efficient scheduling and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company professionally through appearance, communication, and workmanship.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of residential service plumbing experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of residential plumbing systems, fixtures, and water heating equipment.
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active plumbing certifications or licensing, where applicable.
- Experience with tankless water heaters, water filtration systems, and sewer diagnostics.
- Experience using mobile service software or digital work order systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and on ladders.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and plumbing equipment.
