Job summary

KEP Electric, a subsidiary of IES Residential, seeks an experienced Residential Service Electrician in Indianapolis to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in homes. You will handle both new builds and lived-in residences, ensuring safety and high-quality workmanship while representing the company professionally.

The role requires strong NEC knowledge, a minimum of two years’ experience, and a mindset focused on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Residential Service Electrician.
• Strong knowledge of NEC codes and compliance requirements.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Willingness to work independently and travel to residential job sites.

Responsibilities

• Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls in residential homes (occupied and unoccupied).
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues related to panels, circuits, breakers, lighting, outlets, GFCIs, switches, and more.
• Conduct home warranty repairs and ensure homeowner satisfaction through quality service and clear communication.
• Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while working in lived-in homes.
• Accurately complete service tickets and document repairs performed, parts used, and next steps if required.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of company vehicles, tools, and PPE.
• Communicate effectively with service coordinators, homeowners, and field leadership.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance or customer satisfaction.
