Job summary

BRAVAS is seeking a Service Technician specializing in security and custom home automation to join our team and deliver exceptional client experiences through expert service, troubleshooting, and system maintenance on luxury residential projects.

You will diagnose, repair, and support smart home systems with products like Control4, Lutron, Savant, Crestron, and more, ensuring flawless performance and client satisfaction across high-end installations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in residential A/V or smart home system installation/service.
• Strong understanding of A/V, security, lighting, and home automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret home schematics, plans, and CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair smart home systems on luxury residential projects.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot networks, control systems, A/V, and surveillance equipment.
• Use remote access tools to repair and stabilize network-based systems.
• Set up remote monitoring platforms and enroll clients in appropriate support plans.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager to track and resolve recurring issues.
• Communicate with manufacturer tech support when necessary.
• Manage part replacements, track orders, and complete repairs.
• Identify upgrade opportunities and share recommendations with the team.
• Deliver client service, training, and support in person and remotely.
• Maintain records of work orders, time entries, and job costing.
• Participate in on-call rotation.

The Role

We’re looking for a Service Technician specializing in security & custom home automation to join our team and deliver exceptional client experiences through expert service, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and supporting smart home systems across our luxury residential projects. You’ll work with products such as Control4, Lutron, Savant, and Crestron—ensuring that every system you touch performs flawlessly and every client interaction reflects the BRAVAS standard of excellence.

This is a hands‑on, client‑facing position where technical expertise, professionalism, and attention to detail are key to success.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve issues with installed systems including:
  • Crestron, Control4, Lutron, HomeWorks & Savant, DSC, Elk, etc.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot networks, control systems, A/V, and surveillance equipment.
• Utilize remote access tools to repair and stabilize network‑based systems.
• Set up remote monitoring platforms and enroll clients in appropriate support plans.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager to track, document, and resolve recurring service issues.
• Communicate effectively with manufacturer tech support when necessary.
• Manage part replacements, track orders, and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Identify opportunities for system upgrades or replacements and share recommendations with the team.
• Deliver exceptional client service, training, and support in person and remotely.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, time entries, and job costing.
• Participate in on‑call rotation as assigned.
• Maintain company tools, vehicles, and assets responsibly.
• Protect client privacy and uphold the integrity of home and network security at all times.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in residential A/V or smart home system installation or service preferred.
• Strong understanding of A/V, security, lighting, and home automation systems
  • Control4, Lutron, Savant, Crestron, DSC & Elk
• Ability to read and interpret home schematics, plans, and CAD drawings.
• Solid troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently in client environments.
• Strong communication and client service skills with a professional demeanor.
• Basic computer skills and ability to quickly learn job management software.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check; security license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
• Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
