POSITION TITLE

Residential Sales Specialist, Mid-West

POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken's Residential Carpet Business is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Sales Representative. The Sales Representative will report directly to the Regional Sales Leader. Specifically, the territory encompasses Kentucky, South/Central Ohio, and Indiana. The position will be located in a home office within the region, preferably in the Cincinnati or Louisville area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Build solid and trustworthy relationships with specialty flooring retailers enabling Milliken to greatly increase their market and business share in the territory.
  2. Daily sales calls on existing customers with a special emphasis on the sale of samples, displays, rolls, and area rugs.
  3. Ensure product knowledge training and provide product consultation.
  4. Continually prospect for viable new accounts while developing a keen awareness of what is happening within the designated geographic area.
  5. Provide retailers with business and product consultations to increase sales in their markets.
  6. Prepare reports of business transactions and sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales.
  7. Prepare and communicate sales reports outlining actual sales information and goals, competitive market conditions, and product needs.
  8. Analyze and control travel and entertainment expenditures as well as sample budget to conform to the budgetary requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  1. 2+ years direct sales experience

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  1. Well-developed communication and execution management skills.
  2. Must be a self-starter, experienced with working from a home office with limited supervision.
  3. Must possess very strong personal presence and interpersonal skills.
