Job summary

J.R. & Co., Inc. is seeking a Residential Service Technician – Roofing in Kansas City, MO. You will perform roofing installations and repairs, communicate changes to homeowners, and work with crews to ensure quality on every project.

The role requires 1–2 years of roofing experience, a High School diploma or GED, OSHA 10 certification, and a valid MO Class E license. You must be safety minded, able to lift 50+ lbs, and willing to travel and work overtime.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of roofing applications and repair methods.
• Excellent customer relations with homeowners.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven and organized with strong time management.
• OSHA 10 Construction certified and safety-minded.
• Able to obtain security clearance for military sites.
• Valid MO Class E or equivalent driver's license.

Job Title: Residential Service Technician – Roofing

Job Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $26–$38/hour (DOE)

Position Overview

The Residential Service Technician is responsible for completing high-quality roofing installations and repairs for homeowners while delivering an excellent customer experience. This role focuses on skilled workmanship, clear communication with homeowners and crews, and making sure every job is finished right the first time. Ideal candidates are experienced roofers who take pride in their craft, can work independently, and want to contribute to a growing team.

Essential Functions

• Perform roofing installations and repairs according to scope of work
• Communicate schedule adjustments with homeowners and crew
• Work efficiently and collaboratively with crews on jobsites
• Share experience and knowledge with the team to complete work orders effectively
• Clean, maintain, and stock your assigned work truck
• Keep necessary materials stocked in the warehouse
• Complete detailed punch lists to ensure final project quality and address customer concerns
• Perform quality control on all roofing-related job requirements

Education and Experience

• Experience with shingles, metal roofing, coping, and related materials

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
• Ability to work at heights and on rooftops
• Frequently lift and carry 50+ lbs
• Frequent bending, kneeling, and walking
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions (8+ hours per day)
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Ability to work overtime and weekends
