Volunteers of America MN/WI in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a part-time Residential Reentry Shift Staff member to supervise and assist residents within a male-only center. Weekend shifts are mandatory, with additional weekday coverage as needed.

Compensation includes $19.80/hr plus a $5.09/hr health and wellness benefit, plus shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Location: 2825 East Lake Street, Minneapolis.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED and two years full-time work experience, military service, or college training.
• Ability to safely perform essential job functions; physical demands include hearing, vision, walking, standing, gripping, and speaking clearly.
• Criminal and motor vehicle background checks required; adverse data may disqualify.
• Falsification may lead to disqualification or termination.

Mansioni

• Builds and maintains rapport with residents.
• Defuses and controls disruptive behavior using verbal interventions.
• Uses verbal and listening skills to assess resident problems (suicide risk, intoxication, etc.).
• Informs residents of RRC rules and safety procedures.
• Monitors residents and visitors for unusual behavior or safety concerns.
• Supervises recreational activity periods and ensures order.
• Searches residents and living areas for contraband.
• Coordinates facility head counts and checks IDs for access control.
• Processes new admissions and discharges.
• Responds to emergencies per facility procedures.
• Writes narrative reports and maintains logs for daily events.
