Sojourner House, Inc. seeks a Property Maintenance Technician to support Rhode Island properties. You will perform general residential maintenance, coordinate repairs, and prepare units for new residents with attention to safety and quality.

The role requires five or more years of verifiable maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel between sites. You will use Buildium and mobile devices to document work and communicate with residents and contractors.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of verifiable residential or property maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, Google Workspace, and Buildium.
• Ability to perform general maintenance across multiple trades.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in occupied residences.

Responsabilités

• Perform general residential maintenance and repairs (drywall, painting, minor plumbing/electrical, carpentry, flooring, doors, fixtures, windows, caulking).
• Prepare apartments for new residents with repairs, painting, patching, and final quality checks.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance inspections and report safety needs.
• Support exterior/seasonal property maintenance (grounds, snow/ice response).
• Complete work orders accurately and document work; maintain tools and safety.
• Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, contractors, and vendors; travel between RI properties.
• Participate in rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedule.
