Job summary

SHM LLC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our residential property in top condition. The role covers routine repairs, emergency maintenance, and ensuring a high standard of living for residents in Southington, CT.

You will perform general repairs, handle preventative maintenance, maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliances, and help keep grounds and common areas safe and clean.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); RealPage experience a plus.
• Trade school or industry certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and unit turnovers.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies, including on-call support.
• Maintain HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Keep grounds clean, including landscaping and snow removal.
• Ensure property is safe and meets code requirements.
• Use and maintain tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents.
• Clean and maintain common areas.
• Order maintenance supplies as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and attend required training.
• Seasonal Pool maintenance and other operational tasks.
