Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Dumont, NJ seeks an experienced Residential Program Manager to oversee operations in our residential and community-based programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in supporting individuals with disabilities, plus a valid driver’s license. You will supervise staff, coordinate schedules, communicate with families, and ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation. Competitive benefits expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards.
• Background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff schedules and ensure shifts are staffed.
• Lead team performance through communication, training, and recognition.
• Develop and implement activity programs including the Meaningful Day curriculum.
• Communicate with families and guardians as needed.
• Support individuals per ISP/PCP including meds, meals, and behavior.
• Complete program documentation and billable records accurately.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Maintain relationships with families and guardians.
• Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff in inspections.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are actively seeking an experienced Residential Program Manager in Dumont, New Jersey.

Starting pay is $56,000 /per year

Responsibilities

• Manage staff schedules and ensure shifts are adequately staffed
• Manage team performance through effective communication, training, performance management, staff meetings, and employee recognition
• Develop and implement activity programs including the Meaningful Day curriculum
• Communicate with the families and guardians of individuals we support as needed
• Ensure individuals are supported per their ISP/PCP including medication management, meal planning, and behavior management
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely
• Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and immediately report any concerns
• Manage relationships with the families and guardians of the individuals in our care
• Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean, well maintained, and stocked with necessary supplies including groceries, medications, and cleaning supplies
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Two years’ full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards relevant to supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

Working Conditions

• Work in residential programs, day programs, and in the community
• Schedule may change due to business needs and may include evening and weekend hours
• May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff
