Job summary

Turn Community Services in Orem, UT is seeking a full-time Residential Program Assistant to support seven individuals in the Lakeview Residential home. The team includes a Coordinator, two Program Assistants and eight DSPs, and you will help with daily care and community activities.

You will assist with high medical and personal care needs, including transfers up to 50 pounds, and help with training staff, shopping, meals, medical appointments, client finances, and planning in-home and community

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience working with individuals with Developmental/intellectual disabilities
• Ability to complete required training within 3 months of employment
• Ability to produce and review typed business letters, reports, and accurate numerical records
• Personal and reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and proof of insurance
• Ability and willingness to drive large program buses and vans, as well as training new employees to drive large vehicles
• Working knowledge of Therap
• Proficient computer skills
• Leadership skills

Responsibilities

• This Assistant position provides supports to 7 individuals at the Lakeview Residential home in Orem.
• You will help with high medical needs, high personal care needs, including moving or transfers up to 50 pounds, and high behavioral needs.
• You will execute activities in communication, social skills, safety, recreation and leisure, and other skills to support increased independence.
• You will assist with training of staff, shopping, menu planning, medical appointments, client finances, and coordinating in-home and community activities with the Coordinator.
