Job summary

gpac is seeking a detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to manage permitting for residential construction and post-disaster restoration projects. This role partners with internal teams, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to move applications from submission to approval.

The ideal candidate has experience in permitting or permit coordination and a solid understanding of residential construction codes and zoning.

Qualifications

Experience in permitting, permit coordination, construction administration, or a related role.
Familiarity with residential construction, building codes, zoning regulations, and municipal approval processes.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn project management or permitting software.

Responsibilities

Prepare, submit, and track residential building permit applications and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with city, county, zoning, and other regulatory departments to obtain required approvals.
Monitor permit status, follow up on outstanding applications, and resolve permitting delays.
Review project documents for completeness and compliance with local building codes and zoning requirements.
Coordinate inspections, maintain permit records, and communicate deadlines and status updates to internal team.
Research permitting requirements across multiple jurisdictions and communicate changes that may affect project timelines.
