Job summary

Design Destination Youth and Family in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a compassionate Residential Paraprofessional to support youth in a structured residential setting. This role emphasizes safety, compassion, and hands-on care to help youth thrive.

You will aid with daily living activities, document progress, and collaborate with case managers to implement treatment plans while responding effectively to crisis situations.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to youth residents in a structured residential environment.
• Support daily living activities including meal preparation, hygiene, and household routines.
• Implement individualized treatment and behavior support plans under clinical guidance.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with youth and families to promote stability and growth.
• Document resident behaviors, progress, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with transportation, community outings, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and family members as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Respond to crisis situations using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques.

Requirements:

• Strong communication, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and composure in high-stress situations
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to trauma-informed care practices
