Job summary

The JOY FM in Virginia is seeking a reliable residential painter to join our on-site crew. You will prepare surfaces, apply interior and exterior finishes, and protect client property while delivering quality workmanship.

Candidates should have 1-3 years of painting experience, familiarity with airless sprayers, and the ability to communicate with homeowners about timelines and progress. Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with good benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years residential painting experience preferred.
• Experience with interior and exterior painting techniques.
• Experience using airless sprayers and other professional painting equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior residential surfaces.
• Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets, siding, decks, fences, and other structures.
• Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, and landscaping using drop cloths, masking materials, and coverings.
• Mix, match, and apply paints according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
• Operate brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other painting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met.
• Maintain tools, ladders, equipment, and work vehicles in proper working condition.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project status, timelines, and expectations.
• Complete projects within scheduled timeframes while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Follow company safety procedures and jobsite safety standards.
• Clean and organize work areas at the conclusion of each workday and project.
• Assist with project estimates, material calculations, and jobsite setup as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
