Job summary

Independent Bank in Michigan is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential loans and develop business in your local community. Reporting to the Area Mortgage Sales Manager, you will help customers achieve home ownership dreams.

You will network with realtors and employers, interview borrowers, process applications with Blend and Encompass, price and lock rates, and coordinate with other bank departments. Join a collaborative, community-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of working experience preferred.
• 3+ years of sales experience, originating real estate mortgage loans preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Proven networking and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Solicit residential mortgages through realtor, builder, employer, and community networks.
• Interview borrowers to determine programs based on income, assets, and credit.
• Assist borrowers with applications using Blend and Encompass.
• Ensure documentation is uploaded to complete loan applications for underwriting.
• Price and lock interest rates and monitor lock expirations.
• Introduce borrowers to other bank products when appropriate.
• Continually network to build relationships with realtors and partners.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
