Job summary

ARCXIS is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a focus on single-family detached residential HVAC design and engineering. You will perform Manual J, S, D calculations and design duct layouts in AutoCAD, integrating with in-house frame designs per ACCA and IRC standards.

Responsibilities include producing construction documents in AutoCAD, and collaborating with design staff to deliver cross-disciplined, high-quality residential design solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
• 1+ years of relevant design experience preferred.
• Experience in residential HVAC design and code compliance.
• Familiarity with Manual J/S/D and ACCA/IRC standards.

General Overview of Position:

Arcxis is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in single-family detached Residential HVAC design and Engineering. This includes performing Manual J, S, D HVAC design, as well as designing duct layouts in AutoCAD by integrating with our in-house frame designs in accordance with ACCA and IRC standards. Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one stop shop solution to our partners residential design needs.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Job duties will be to produce Manual J, S, and D calculation and designs using Wrightsoft and final construction documents in AutoCAD
• Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise residential HVAC systems
• Generate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction
• Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
• Work with design staff and drafters to complete project

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
• Preferred 3+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.
• Mechanical Design experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
• Mechanical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
