Job summary

MGC Leasing & Property Management is a family-run company managing residential rental properties in the Kansas City area. We’re seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform make-readies and ongoing maintenance across our properties, focusing on quality and safety.

The role requires 3+ years in residential maintenance, strong knowledge of plumbing/electrical/HVAC, and the ability to work in occupied and vacant units. A valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in multi-family/apartment maintenance (make-ready experience preferred).
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and basic carpentry.
• Ability to diagnose problems and know when to escalate to a vendor.
• Comfort with lifting and working in occupied/vacant units.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC/EPA certification is a plus.
• Reliable, organized, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient with multiple forms of technology and software

Responsibilities

• Perform make-readies and day-to-day maintenance across properties.
• Inspect move-outs to determine repairs and scope of work.
• Complete make-ready tasks (painting, drywall, flooring, appliances, fixtures).
• Diagnose and repair common issues (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Process work orders accurately and on time.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and general upkeep.
• Communicate status and materials needed to property managers.
