Article Student Living in Auburn, Alabama seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep properties safe, clean, and in good repair for student residents. You’ll assist the Maintenance Supervisor and handle day‑to‑day upkeep across indoor and outdoor spaces.

The role pays $17 per hour plus commission, requires 1+ years maintenance or construction experience, basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall skills, and a customer‑service mindset.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related maintenance or construction experience.
• Customer service oriented with a professional appearance and ability to interact with residents.
• Basic knowledge of residential HVAC systems and ability to coordinate repairs with licensed vendors.
• Experience with appliance repair and installation for in‑unit appliances (refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers/dryers).
• Drywall repair: patching, sanding, finishing to move‑in ready.
• Interior and exterior painting: surface prep, cutting‑in, rolling to match finishes.
• Basic plumbing knowledge: leaks, clogs, running toilets, fixture repairs/replacements.
• Basic electrical knowledge: troubleshoot/outlet/switch/fixture repairs or replacements.
• CPO certification not required but helpful.

Responsabilités

• Support the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining a safe environment for staff and residents.
• Resolve maintenance issues across the community and property.
• Suggest opportunities to improve efficiency and upkeep.
• Participate in on‑call rotation during specified times.
