Job summary

J&A, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a range of duties across residential units, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, appliance repairs, and ground maintenance.

The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and supports make-ready and inspections. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or vocational training, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and climbing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational certificate preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to bend, lift, climb stairs/ladders.
• Experience with basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs to appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and/or circuits.
• Light plumbing work such as clogs, replacing fittings.
• Carpentry work including doors, windows, shelves, and interior/exterior painting.
• Replace damaged glass, tile, carpet, window screens/blinds, disposals, fixtures, locks.
• Report maintenance and resident concerns to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Respond to work orders and resident requests within 24 hours when possible.
• Keep records for preventive maintenance, work orders, renovations, inventories and purchase orders.
• Assist Site Manager with move-in/move-out inspections and routine inspections.
