Job summary

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Maintenance Specialist in Boca Raton, FL. This role oversees maintenance and operational activities in residential life facilities, ensuring corrective, preventive, and emergency work is properly assessed, assigned, and completed with safety and service in mind.

Responsibilities include directing work orders, coordinating repairs with Housing Facilities, inspecting facilities, and liaising with campus entities for smooth project execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and five years of appropriate experience; or completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and one year of appropriate experience required.
• Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, direct, and assign corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance work in residential life facilities.
• Coordinate repairs with the Assistant Director, Housing Facilities and review repair needs weekly.
• Inspect facilities to identify wear, damages, and deficiencies and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Enter and manage work orders through the Housing on-line Work Order System (School Dude).
• Coordinate projects with campus entities to ensure smooth transitions and operations.
