Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Land Acquisition Analyst to support the Land Team in sourcing and contracting land for residential subdivisions.

You will research site characteristics, analyze feasibility, and track land sales data using GIS, planning websites, and other sources. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
One year of related experience and/or training.
Familiarity with land acquisition, land development, real estate, and/or GIS research.
Efficient and effective at multitasking and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

Investigate site characteristics, including zoning, compatibility with land use plans, wetlands, and school districts.
Identify land leads through brokers, engineers, and GIS resources.
Monitor development ordinances and infrastructure projects.
Maintain a database of land sales data and contract milestones.
Assist with contract prep documents and tracking milestone dates.
Prepare project startup documents for new deals at contract execution.
Attend meetings with sellers, brokers, and developers.
Learn how to negotiate and contract land and lots.
Support Market Analyst to identify competitors.
