Residential HVAC Service Technician

Reports To: Residential Field Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full time

Position Summary:

Residential HVAC Service Technicians maintain and repair HVAC equipment and assist with customer queries.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshoots HVAC equipment to build comfort and energy efficiency. Diagnoses problems and presents those findings and options to the customer, providing advice as needed/requested.
• Provides the customer with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other improvements and collects payment for all work performed.
• Performs equipment installations as needed to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Keeps equipment/work area clean and maintains truck inventory while keeping assigned service vehicles organized and clean, alerting management when repairs are needed.
• Brazes, solders, and welds as required.

Competencies:

• Complete knowledge of all tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform service on residential HVAC systems and all codes governing those services.
• Exhibits an in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, utilize, and train on manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and problem-solving resources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong conflict management skills.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
• Good computer skills: proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general software navigation.

Position Requirements:

Physical Demands:
