Job summary

Service First Heating & Cooling Inc. is seeking an experienced residential HVAC service technician to join our growing, family-owned team. This role focuses on service and diagnostics, with opportunities to assist installation when needed, and no on-call requirements.

You’ll diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and IAQ products, perform tune-ups, document findings, educate homeowners, and contribute to a supportive team focused on integrity and customer service.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of residential HVAC experience with strong service/diagnostic background.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read schematics and installation manuals.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups for optimal performance.
• Accurately assess issues and recommend solutions to homeowners.
• Assist with installing HVAC systems when needed.

Service First Heating & Coolingis looking for an experiencedResidential HVAC Service Technicianto join our growing, family-owned team.

This isprimarily a service and diagnostic position, with opportunities to assist our installation team when needed. We’re looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in doing quality work, communicates well with homeowners, and is willing to pitch in as part of a team.

And one of the biggest differences at Service First: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED.

We believe HVAC technicians should be skilled tradespeople and trusted advisors—not high-pressure salespeople. Our approach is simple:diagnose the problem correctly, fix what makes sense to fix, give customers honest options, and let them make the decision that's right for their home.

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and indoor air quality products.
• Perform routine maintenance and system tune-ups to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Accurately assess system issues and recommend solutions to homeowners.
• Assist with installing HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless units
• Accurately document findings, repairs, and recommendations on service tickets
• Educate homeowners on system condition and present repair, replacement, or other optional services when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean work area and professional appearance
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and uphold company values
• Assist with training new technicians as needed
  

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of residential HVAC experience with strong service/diagnostic experience.
• EPA (Universal) certification required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with ability to clearly explain system issues and provide honest recommendations.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Occasional overtime and weekends may be available/needed during peak seasons; there is no on-call requirement.
• NATE certified or ability to obtain within 1 year of hiring.
