  • Perform material, labor, and equipment takeoffs for residential HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, and related components.
  • Apply practical knowledge of HVAC installation methods to ensure estimates reflect real‑world jobsite conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive project proposals, including cost breakdowns for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Track and update material costs, templates, and pricing data within estimating systems.
  • Evaluate risks, assumptions, and potential issues within project documentation.
  • Collaborate with Division Managers and clients to clarify project details and present estimates.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulations, and company standards.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, technical manuals, and project specifications.
  • Skilled in writing professional reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective verbal communication skills; able to clearly present information and respond to inquiries from managers and clients.
  • Comfort working with office software and digital technical tools.
  • Competent in basic algebra and geometry; able to calculate quantities such as area, volume, and percentages accurately.
  • Capable of conceptualizing project requirements from limited or preliminary information.
  • Able to follow instructions delivered verbally, in writing, or through diagrams and technical schematics.
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes and local compliance standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and tight deadlines.
