Job summary

The Michaels Organization is seeking a Groundskeeper to support the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping our communities safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and staff. You will perform daily upkeep, assist with make-ready tasks, and help maintain equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

You will join a team focused on high-quality grounds care, timely repairs, and respectful interactions with residents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
• One year experience or training in lawn and garden care, pesticides, and parks/grounds maintenance.
• One year experience with outdoor grounds keeping tools, power equipment, and machinery.
• Proven knowledge and application of codes, laws, and regulations.
• Must pass background investigation and drug test screening.

Responsibilities

• Daily upkeep of property buildings and grounds, including cleaning and trash removal.
• Care, maintenance, and inventory of supplies, equipment, and vehicles.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action promptly (e.g., broken gates, damaged lighting).
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Follow OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Assist custodial work in common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash).
• Assist make-ready staff with exterior unit sprucing to meet deadlines.
• Keep accurate daily work logs and work orders.
• Report maintenance or resident concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Periodically inspect units and common areas; perform repairs as needed; ensure secure storage and lighting.
• Attend and participate in training seminars as requested.
• Interact professionally with residents, staff, vendors, and the public.
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and supplies; report shortages to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
