Job summary

H.J. Martin and Son in Wisconsin is seeking a flooring installer responsible for installing flooring products while operating basic tools and flooring equipment.

You will load materials, prepare surfaces, join foundation/flooring material, cut flooring to blueprints, and assist with installation of various flooring types. Must maintain safety practices and work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and meet deadlines.
• Some floor covering installation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blue prints, construction plans and layouts is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of tool and equipment safety, ability to identify and correct environmental or other workplace hazards.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Loading & unloading materials
• Sweep, scrape, sand, or clean base surfaces to correct imperfections that may show through the floor covering
• Mix and apply required compounds to join and adhere foundation/flooring material
• Cut floor coverings and foundation materials according to blueprints and sketches
• Assist with the installation of luxury vinyl, vinyl composition tile, carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile, and other flooring
• Use and maintain hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools in a safe manner
• Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.
