Wage: $31.49 per hour. Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:30 AM start time.
Job Summary
Safely operates a heavy‑duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and all local, state and federal requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using standard DVIR, noting all issues for corrective review/repair.
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
- Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
- Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
- Assist other company drivers as directed and complete all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Dispatch or Operations Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol (e.g., blocked containers, potential missed pick‑ups).
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
- Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed.
- Position containers on the customer’s property to ensure lids are properly replaced, containers are upright, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
Qualifications
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class B.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Basic education: none required.
- Experience: no prior work experience required.
- Basic computer skills for DVIR submission.
