Citigroup’s Residential Financing & Securitization group, currently employing 15 mortgage finance professionals, is seeking to add an Assistant Vice President to its securitization and advisory team.

The group engages in various aspects of the U.S. residential mortgage sector, focusing on the non-agency market, including credit risk transfer deals, seasoned, re-performing, and non-performing collateral, as well as new origination prime and near prime collateral, HELOCs, closed-end second mortgages, small balance commercial (SBC), residential transition loans (RTL), and single-family rental (SFR) markets. It provides credit facilities for residential mortgage-backed assets, issues, underwrites, and syndicates securitizations (as principal and agent), and offers whole loan advisory and brokerage services to large institutional clients, including GSEs. The team collaborates closely with mortgage trading & sales, legal, the investment bank, and external deal parties.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the banking and syndication of mortgage-backed securitizations, either as an issuer or underwriter.
  • Advise third-party clients on the offering and sale of their whole loan portfolios.
  • Manage transactions from client engagement through syndication and settlement, including:
    • Working with issuers and trading desks to identify securitization pools and evaluate deal options.
    • Managing rating agency processes to optimize structures.
    • Liaising with servicers, trustees, due diligence providers, and counsel.
    • Reviewing disclosure documents.
    • Preparing marketing materials and syndication messages.
    • Coordinating deal syndication with Citi’s teams and investors.
    • Ensuring settlement and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience evaluating corporate transactions and structures.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in client development.
  • Ability to research and analyze industry trends.
  • Multitasking, collaboration, and service orientation.
  • Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
