Job summary

Brenham Independent School District is seeking a Tax Appraiser/Residential-Rural to join the Tax Office in Brenham, Texas. You will discover and appraise residential, farm & ranch, and mobile homes within the district and defend valuations before ARB hearings.

Responsibilities include developing revaluation procedures, communicating with taxpayers, and adhering to state and district ethics. Must be detail-oriented with ability to use mapping tools and appraisal software.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher; preferred but not required a minimum of one year of successful experience in residential and farm & ranch appraisal.
• Knowledge of appraisal techniques and standards.
• Experience with computer-generated mass appraisal programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Discover and appraise all residential and farm & ranch property in the district.
• Discover and appraise all mobile homes located within the district.
• Defend the district's appraisals before ARB hearings.
• Develop procedures for timely revaluation of all residential, farm & ranch, and mobile home properties.
